I hope that the Blu-Ray release will include
the entire movie, instead of omitting the
intermission and the Entre Act music like the
standard DVD did.

Ack! MacLean's depiction of Heidi is not good:
She would have won any Miss Europe contest
hands down if she had had a face other than her
own which though pleasant and plump, was rather
plain.

Just ordered the 2002 reprint of the book, and
still can\'t get over Schaffer not having an
umlaut! :)

Thanks, I just saw a copy on Google Books,
which ensures that this is correctly annotated

In the 1972 book page 94 Mary Ellison enters
the Schloss Adler castle with her pretend
cousin Heidi. The name and ID she gives to the
Germans is Fraulein Maria Schenk. Hope that
helps answer your
question. Regards Schaffer

Not sure of this: but is Mary's character given
the pseudonym of Maria or Marie as Heidi's
cousin? It seems to vary a couple of
times. Has anyone got the book to enlighten
me?

Love this movie - can't understand though why
everyone whines about the use of the helicopter
in the movie - but no one says jack about the
completely fictional Flying V wing in Raiders
of The Lost Ark. Helicopters were around in
WWII but weren't used in service, but if they
were around then you can bet Hitler would had
one as a private vehicle.
